We’ve been coming here for nearly two decades, and Yashima definitely offers some of the freshest sushi around. It’s almost as fresh as Sugarfish, our absolute favorite—but Sugarfish is so expensive and quite a drive for us. Yashima has had the same sushi chefs for years, and they are incredibly dedicated to preparing the best dishes. The servers are always amazing too! We visit two to three times a month and occasionally order takeout. Joe always gets the Chirashi, and sometimes adds unagi, halibut, or yellowtail. I love ordering the yellowtail carpaccio, halibut, unagi, and fried oysters. They used to serve Yosenabe and were the only restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley that offered it.
